Dedicated to Galveston Island Arts, Theater, and Music

The purpose of the Galveston Theatre and Arts Partnership, Inc., (GTAP) is to educate the general public about the history of Galveston and the surrounding area through lectures, musicals and staged drama in an authentic, original and recognized vaudeville theater located in the Galveston Scottish Rite Cathedral and therein to also present a variety of musical and art forms to educate and entertain the general public, while displaying the highly developed status of the arts, culture and crafts in Galveston, Texas and the surrounding area.

Our Cathedral & Theater

The Galveston Scottish Rite Cathedral is the hidden gem of Galveston and a treasure of architectural beauty. Built in 1929 in an Art-Deco style by the notable Texas architect Alfred C. Finn, the building is home to a historically preserved four hundred seat vaudeville-era theater, a magnificent library/exhibition hall, an ornate ball room, as well as the famed Egyptian Room.

Donations Welcome

G.T.A.P. is organized exclusively for the purposes subsequent to section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All donations are tax-decutible, any and all funds will be used for our stated purposes of artistic, musical and theatrical presentions and education of the public alongside the preservation of the historic Galveston S.R.C., vaudeville-era theater and exhibition halls.
